Terrorism: Participant Posts Russian Video Game Showing Suicide Operations, Beheading of American

On 3 September, a jihadist website posted a message with links to a Russian video game about suicide and military operations aimed at children. The participant praised the video and asked viewers to "spread this wonderful technological achievement around." The 15-minute, 3-second video had Russian captions and a song in Arabic and posted the horrific picture of Mr. Burg, an American who was killed and beheaded two years ago in Iraq.

A translation of the message and a description of the video follow:

"Peace and God's blessings be upon you dear brothers in Islam.

[Koranic verse omitted]

Praise be to God. Peace and prayers be upon the prophet of God.

Brothers in Islam, I brought you an unexpected cartoon film [video game] about the operations of suicide, sniping, and fierce battles against the infidels as strange as it sounds.

All you have to do is load this wonderful technological achievement and thank God.

I think when your son watches this film, he will ask you for a suicide operation or say find me a way to go with them.

Listen to what my son says, objecting to his mother when she runs the flash of the Mecca Sniper film of the mujahidin in Iraq. With God's blessings, he is only two and half years old and I am mixed up.

Peace be upon you, the best of prophets, Muhammad, his family, and companions."

A description of the video follows:

The 15-minute, 3-second video starts with a picture of a young man covering his face and holding the head of Mr. Burg, an American who was killed two years ago in Baghdad. A caption follows in Russian with the green flag of Saudi Arabia in the background. A Saudi jihadist song is played along with the Russian game which lasts for 15 minutes before it ends the same way it starts. The game itself is very violent and consists of shootings, sniping, and other attacks.
